Independence harbor is located in Edgewater, NJ - midway between the George Washington Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel, a prized location as it's minutes from manhattan and equally easy to get to Route 3 or Route 4.

Edgewater itself was recently rated one of the top 10 safest “suburbs” in all of the US.

Our property is within walking distance to several restaurants and casual dining options, outdoor shopping centers and much more.

And of course, you can stroll along the magnificent Hudson Riverfront Walkway and admire the views all year round.

NY Waterway Ferry & Bus

For Manhattan commuters, the ferry is a fantastic year-round option.  Two terminals are within a short bus ride - one in northern Edgewater and a larger terminal in West New York.  NY Waterway also has a fleet of buses that run along river road that take you to/from the terminals.  The bus is free with your ticket purchase.

Another option is to hop on the NJ Transit bus that stops along River Road.  The bus stop is just one block south of the entrance to our development

Our town also provides free transportation via shuttles and buses to various locations inside the town and even to the ferry terminals.

Bergen County is known for it's shopping and Edgewater is no exception.

Edgewater Commons

A quick five minute walk north are large retail chains, a major grocery store, a few restaurants, Starbucks, a liquor store, a drycleaner, and more.

Edgewater Marketplace

Drive five minutes North and you can find the home of Trader Joes, Animal General, Fedex, an indoor tennis club, and several restaurant and casual food options to explore.

Ten minutes walking south, this area has several retail stores, restaurants and specialty shops.  In good weather they host social events for the kids and pups.

Mitsuwa Marketplace

Looking for Japanese cuisine? Look no further. Mitsuwa is one of the best Japanese supermarkets in the country, where you can pick up specialty foods and goods. It also has unique mini food shops inside to taste the art of the possible.
